Surf Rock Kings Derangers play an NO COVER show at Phoenix DEC 15th.

Conjuring the feel of a bygone era in America, when neon lit the evening sky along Route 66 and a cowboy with no name rode across a Drive-In movie screen...

The WESTERNMENTAL SOUND!! CD release, "Derangers: The Legend of Daphne Blue" released March 2014 on Deep Eddy Records! http://www.deepeddy.net/artists/derangers/

One hot Saturday afternoon in 1988, blues guitarist Drew Townson, then freshly relocated from Dallas to Boston, was laying on the couch nursing a hangover. He was watching the "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" on TV. The music in the classic Italian Western caught Drew's attention, big time. He jumped off the couch, grabbed his Stratocaster, and began playing in a whole new way. That moment changed Drew's musical direction forever. By 1989 he had started a band called the Derangers (rhymes with "strangers"), dedicated to playing spooky instrumental themes, encompassing Spaghetti Western, Surf, Spy-Jazz and more. The first original recording by The Derangers was a cinematic western called "Rio Sangre," which was internationally hailed as a standout track. By the early 90's film directors like David Lynch and Quentin Tarantino were also exploring this haunted, reverberant sound in their movies. Drew had always been a fan of original Surf-guitar kings like Dick Dale and The Ventures, along with Duane Eddie and other twangy guitarists, so it was only natural to combine all these influences in to the Derangers' "WesterMental" sound. With Drew's Strat a-blazin' the trio gigged, toured and recorded from 1990 to 2000, Now, after a decade of dormancy, those bad bandidos are BACK! Hide the women and lock up the tequila - The Derangers Ride Again!

In his one-man show, Greg Klyma presents Tom Petty's music at its core. Switching from acoustic guitar to electric bass to tenor banjo and on, Klyma plays the songs that have had the biggest impact on his own life and leads the sing alongs, one grieving fan to another.

Greg Klyma is a Gen X troubadour. He grew up with MTV and started writing songs the same year that Tom Petty released Full Moon Fever. For more than 2 decades, Klyma has traveled the country playing in cafes & bars, fairs & festivals, recording 12 studio albums and building a modest following of loyal fans along the way. Through romantic breakups and over a million miles logged, Tom Petty's music has simultaneously been the soundtrack of his life and a major influence on Greg Klyma's music.

Katie Perkins demonstrated her passion and talent for singing at the very young age of 4, practicing every chance she could. At only 11 years old she was performing to growing crowds in her hometown of East Lyme, CT.

This promising singer’s career was almost cut short when, at the age of 16, she began to experience severe fatigue and shortness of breath. Katie was told she needed open-heart surgery to correct an undetected heart condition which she had lived with since birth. She faced an unthinkable choice. Without the surgery she was told she might not live to see age 30. If she underwent the surgery, she may never sing again, as the breathing tubes required could cause irreparable damage to her larynx. Without hesitation, Katie looked the doctor in the eye and said “I would rather sing for the next 13 years than to live and never sing again.” Seeing her resolve, the doctors agreed to use infant breathing tubes to minimize the risks to her beautiful voice and were successful in repairing her heart. This experience will forever shape her outlook on life, and give her the sense of purpose and passion which she brings to her stunning vocal performance.

With her renewed lease on life, Katie lets nothing stand in the way of her dreams. She has already recorded two studio albums, worked with GRAMMY award-winning engineer Joel Soyffer, and is a member of The Recording Academy, (host of The Grammy Awards). During her studies at Berklee College of Music she absorbed valuable information and performance technique, and has tutored under celebrity vocal coach J Chris Griffin (coach to the likes of Madonna, Janet Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and other industry greats). Katie has graced the stage at major venues in the New England area, including the Connecticut XL Center, The Big E! and Foxwoods Resort and Casino.

As her passion and talent have grown, the nominations and awards have followed. Katie won First Place at the USA World Showcase in 2006, and was nominated and in the final running for GRAMMY Gig of a Lifetime, associated with CBS. She was a finalist for the Katie Couric Blackbird Studios Contest and was nominated for Country Act of the Year for the 2013 New England Music Awards, for 2014 Country Act of the Year for the International Music and Entertainment Association Awards, and for 2014 Female Country Artist of the Year for the Limelight Magazine Music Awards. All nominees for the Limelight Music awards are chosen by the public based on the nominees impact in the music community.

Katie is currently working on her third studio album with Producer/Engineer and Recording Academy voting member,

Brian Sargent. The new single to be released in June titled “Take My Hand” is backed by the talent of drummer Ben Sesar (Brad Paisley), Andy Hall on dobro (Zac Brown, Dolly Parton,Infamous Stringdusters), and Brian Sargent on upright bass, mandolin, acoustic guitar and backing vocals.

Katie’s soulful, crystal-clear vocals have been compared to Alison Krauss, Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert. Her captivating voice has grabbed the attention of a rapidly growing fan-base. Katie Perkins is a passionate vocalist as well as an unstoppable and driven artist whose powerful live performance should not be missed.
